Add icons to the icon bar

For quick access to the areas of QuickBooks you use most, consider customizing your icon bar by adding the features and reports that you open on a daily or weekly basis.

1.             Open the window that contains the feature or report you want to add.

Loading, please wait . . .

2.             Go to the View menu and click Add Window to Icon Bar, where window is the title of the window you are adding.

If the menu item is dimmed, make sure that the icon bar is displayed. Go to the View menu and click Add Window to Icon Bar again.

3.             In the Label field, enter the text that you want to appear below the icon.

Choose a label that will help you recognize the icon, but avoid long names that will cause the icon to become too wide.

4.             (Optional) Modify the Description that appears when you pause your mouse above an icon.

Prefilled with the window's title, this descriptive text can help you identify an icon.

5.             (Optional) From the scrolling list, select the icon that you want to use to identify the feature.

QuickBooks preselects an icon, but you can select a different one.

Voiding or deleting a cheque

If you need to cancel out the amount of a cheque, you can void the cheque or delete it.

·         Voiding a cheque only changes the amount to zero, but keeps the empty transaction in QuickBooks (other information is unchanged, for example the name of the payee, address, and date). A voided cheque also displays VOID in the memo field. You can reverse a voided cheque.

·         Deleting a cheque irreversibly removes the transaction from QuickBooks and can't be undone.

Note: When you void or delete a cheque, any reports that include that transaction will also change.
